Are there any known issues if you change the SQL-TCP port from dynamic- to
the standard 1433 port in a cluster environment. We have an application wich
needs a static port in there configuration files.

What is the rule of port incrementation when we have two named instances
running in our cluster (1433 for the first instance, 1434 for the second,
    ...)?

    Thank's a lot

  2. Since each instance has its own IP address, you can use the same port number
on multiple clustered instances. I have had some strangenesses with older
versions (SQL 2000) and using 1433 for a named instance so be sure and test
    first.

1434 is the SQL Browser service, don't use it for your instances.....
