    Hi Guys

I am a newbie to the security issues with SQLServer connectivity. We are
planning to provide a centralized database to all our clients, who will
connect to it using our vb application on their machine. It is more like
client-server model, where client and server are connected over internet.

Is it safe to connect to the database like that? With http, we can use SSL
to connect to the webserver for encrypting the data transfer to and fro the
server. Can we do anything like that using ODBC avoiding the vulnerability
    of tracing and sniffing?

Please point me to any articles or links over the net...

    Thanx alot
    Chandra
