I'm trying to deploy my Analysis Services (SQL 2005) over VPN onto a SQL
server 2005. The firewall has been confiured to allow port 1433 traffic. I
can establish ODBC connection from our system to the destination server with
no problem, but deploying Analysis Services failed with the following error:

Error 1 The project could not be deployed to the '192.168.1.100' server
because of the following connectivity problems : A connection cannot be
made. Ensure that the server is running. To verify or update the name of
the target server, right-click on the project in Solution Explorer, select
Project Properties, click on the Deployment tab, and then enter the name of
    the server. 0 0

    Thanks,
    Gilgamesh

If you can connect with Management Studio (SSMS), you might want to try to
deploy the AS database by executing XMLA script in SSMS. Check the "Analysis
Services Deployment Methods" and "Using an XML Script" topics in Books
    OnLine.
