    Hello,

I am still pretty new to clustering. I will be creating clusters on SQL2005
with BizTalk 2006 R2 as follows:

    1. SQLCluster
    2. MSDTCCluster
    3. ENTSSOCluster
    4. SSASCluster
    5. SQLNodeA
    6. SQLNodeB

Can anyone tell me how to test / verify cluster functionality or point me to
    a resource that explains it?

    TIA,
    Rich

I usually start with the OS-level cluster and see if it works. A simple
continuous ping test on the virtual IP/hostname of the cluster should do the
    trick
    PING virtualIP -t

Then, I'd reboot the active node and see if it fails over to the passive
node. If it does, you can then run a simple connectivity test to SQL Server
using either Management Studio or sqlcmd and connect to the SQL Server
    virtual instance name
