Installing runtime of MS SQL 2008 Enterprise Edition with SQL8.00.

Discussion in 'microsoft.public.sqlserver.server' started by John Mountain, Feb 17, 2010.

  1. I want to install a run-time of MS SQL 2008 Enterprise Edition for a third
party application in a machine where is already installed a runtime of SQL
8.00.760 used/installed by Veritas Backup. I would like to know if there are
any known technical constrains or license constrains.

Let me see if I understand. SQL Server 2000 is installed on a machine and
you want to also install SQL Server 2008.

Installation can get tricky, but nothing too hard. They will both compete
for CPU and memory as well. There are no license issues in putting both on
    the same machine.
