I am trying to get a WinCE build to include sqlceme30.dll. In
Solutions Explorer/Public/SQLCE/sqlce.bib, I see that this will happen
if "SQLCE_MODULES_SQLMOBILE" is set. But in the catalog, I cannot find
this item to include it. I am able to set SQLCE_MODULES_EDB though.

How do I instruct the build process to include sqlceme30.dll in the build?

    Thanks

  2. Maybe you should tell us *what version of Windows CE you're asking about*?!
Since my best guess is CE5, we'll go with that.

Search the CE5 catalog for "mobile". You'll find SQL Mobile. That's it.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that. Its CE 6. I don't see SQL Mobile
anywhere in the catalog. Under "Core OS"->"CEBASE"->"Database Support",
I only see CEDB DATABASE & EDB DATABASE both of which I have included.

  4. You can search in the CE6 catalog, too! There's SQL Compact. I think
    that's what you want...

I have done a search for "SQL" (No hits), "Compact" (None). Just to be
sure, I searched for "NET" (Found it) and XML (found it). Looks like I
am missing the SQL Compact component in my catalog. I have downloaded
and installed Service Pack 1. Based on the installation details below,
should I have this catalog item? Is this supposed to be available or
    is not released yet?

    Thanks

  6. Then I'd hypothesize that you haven't installed all of the QFEs for Windows
    CE 6.0. Look at this:

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...9e-d020-465e-b451-73127b30b79f&DisplayLang=en

Note that you have to install CE6 R2 to install the update, so make sure you
read that page thoroughly before doing the correct install of the updates.
After that, install the January 2009 QFEs:

My configuration now is as below. I applied Service Pack 1, followed by
R2 and then the QFE from your email. I still do not have any additional
catalog items. Could it be due to the .net framework 2.0?

  9. No, something is wrong. Use the ceqfecheck, CE Update Check, tool from the
Tools menu in VS2005 to figure out what QFE is missing. I know that July
2008 is missing, as that's the one with SQL Compact in it, but it seems that
something was probably screwed up during the QFE install. You didn't do it
with VS2005 still running or anything, right?

I tried to attach the output of CeUpdateCheck but its too large for the
News Server. What should I be looking for? Could you give me a link to
    the database specific updates?

    Thanks

  11. After it's done, it should show green marks by the QFEs that are properly
installed and yellow, if I remember right, next to those which are not
installed. Does the program indicate that July 2008 is installed?

No, you don't want just the database updates. The QFEs have to be applied
in order and the yearly roll-up that I pointed you to does that.

CeUpdateCheck has "yellow" for everything indicating that nothing has
been installed (I didn't know this before). Yet, I have applied

    45946880 Feb 11 09:03 WinCEPB60-090131-2009M01-Armv4I.msi

this update twice without any errors. All the files have
    Read/Write/Execute enabled for Everyone.
    WINCEROOT=c:\wince600\

My target is a PXA270. What am I missing? Is there a log produced by
    this update file?

    Thanks

  13. That's only the January 2009 update. You have to apply the product roll-up,
the first link I sent you! I don't know what else to say about it...

Thank you for your patience. Saw the posting again. Applied the rollup &
everything is good now. There is SQL_COMPACT in the catalog now.

    Thanks

  17. "an error"? You aren't expecting *that* bit of information to be of *any*
use, are you? Did you do a Clean Sysgen? You've changed the list of
components in the OS; you must do this. Note that I didn't say Build and
Sysgen, but Sysgen with the Clean Before Building flag set.
